I'm new to watches, I'm not normally a fan of busy dials (or rather, I'm quite picky about them), but I love the Navitimer. It has a lot going on but everything works so well together that it doesn't feel that crowded to me. I like the how the color of the numerals against the blue allows them fill the area without making it crowded. I think if I could get any chronograph, out of everything I've seen so far it would have to be a Navitimer. I seem to really like Breitling in general

I love the panda dial effect on the Breitling, but after owning a BLNR and ceramic seamaster, I feel it lacks the shine that ceramic gives. I find the dial to be a matte finish rather than a shiny black. I'm spoiled. That's why I've gravitated to the Dark Side. I like the shinyness of the black ceramic case, but I already own an Omega and a black watch just seems strange to me. It kind of reminds me of those 80s digital watches. Also, when I tried it on at the boutique, I wasn't too wowed by it.

Anyhoo, I want to get a chronograph and these are my top two choices. Any other suggestions, I would welcome. My budget is below $10K CAD so don't recommend a Patek or ALS or something crazy like that. Give me your thoughts people.

I have seen and tried on the Dark Side of The Moon. In real life, I don't like it that much. Take a look at the Grey Side of The Moon - this one looks much more impressive in real than on pictures or video. The Meteorite version I have no experience with but I would check it out before buying a "moon watch".

But of course, the Navitimer is a classic.

I think you just answered the question you posed in your other thread...

If the watch works for you then it’s meant to be in your collection. In terms of the piece itself, it’s quite iconic and screams Breitling.

Having owned both the Navitimer 01 and the Omega Speedmaster 9300 which is about the same thickness as the one you referenced above, I would pick the Navitimer 01. It’s thinner(14.25mm vs 16.5mm), a lot more wearable and comfortable and a lot more classic looking than the Omega. The Navitimer 01 is the only Breilting I would consider!. It’s a legend!.

Personally I'd echo MrRoy's advice and go Grey Side of the Moon over both the Navi and the Dark Side. The grey ceramic gives a stunningly different look and (crucially for me at least!) the Omega's don't suffer from the "watch dial design acne" that is the 4:30 date position!

Nothing like the Navitimer 01 out there. Recognizable from a mile away. An absolute classic!. I also love it because it’s busy!

@Drake191 / Drake19 - I'm not sure why you set up two almost identical ID's within a minute of each other before posting very similar (and now merged) threads. The forum rules are explicit in that a user may only have one account.

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt (and that's despite one ID claiming to be new to watches, and the other having apparently owned an Omega Seamaster and a Rolex BLNR  ), so I've only banned the Drake19 ID and not both.

Please feel free to continue using the Drake191 ID.

Changed my mind about the benefit of the doubt after doing a 5 second search on Google and found these from 3 years and 6 months ago respectively -

(second post down)

Both IDs now banned.

Seems like more and more random crackpots joining watch forums and making fake accounts.

If you are active this watch is tough and beautiful.
