Post subject:  Breitling Navitimer 38 mm bezel issue

Hi guys,

I bought this navitimer 01 38 mm just about 1 week ago and as I was wiping the face earlier, i noticed a very slight movement up and down in the bezel with a distinct clicking noise.

Its only on the bottom of the watch. Here are some pictures, let me know if this is normal.

I already spoke to the salesman and he said he will check the other ones tomorrow as hes out of the store and he will let me know if its normal.

But I trust you guys more than the salesman to be honest. Let me know.

I don't own a Navi at the moment so I can't check for you myself, but I've had a couple of Navi's over the years and I've never noticed any discernible up/down play in the bezel, and certainly no clicking noise.

Thank you so much for chipping in.

Exactly my thought, a watch this expensive should literally be crafted to perfection (seeing as this is the selling point of luxury watches)

Sadly all I have is this forums replies until i go back home next friday.

Hope others chip in.

Thanks again buddy

Different watches but both my Airwolf and B1 have slight play in them to allow for expansion. If it’s a click bezel there may be an issue, if it’s a bi-directional bezel there may need to be some play to prevent seizure.

Great info!

Although the way i discovered the play was when i cleaned the bezel with a cloth and heard a click at the bottom part (6 oclock)

the clicking noise only happens sometimes but im pretty sure its not supposed to happen at all.

Thanks for the reply!

Please guys chip in, the watch was very expensive for me, it took me ages to save up for it and im really worried it wont last a lifetime like it should.

Its only been a week of ownership

Best maybe to compare it to a similar model at the AD. You need to make sure it’s right.

Yup! will definitely be at the dealer by friday.

Question. If it wasn't normal and it turns out faulty, will i be able to ask for a replacement or will they force me to wait while they send it to their repairs and will have to stick to that same faulty watch considering its 1 week old?

If it is faulty then firmly ask for a replacement. However, don't take their word if they say it's 'normal' without checking it against another example.

Hi guys, just an update, breitling were awesome. They replaced the watch no problems.

I did however speak to the breitling headquarters before heading home and notified them of the problem, they spoke to my local AD and told them to fix the situation.

I think that played a major part on why they replaced it with no issues.

thanks everyone for your input. very happy with my piece. peace ;)
