Post subject:  Any suggested Breitling book?

Hi all,

I would like to ask you whether there is any ideal book about Breitling that I should own. I know about two books: Breitling: The book and Benno Richter´s Breitling book. Which one is better? I know that the Benno Richter´s book is more than 25 years old and only the price lists was updated in 2007 and Breitling: The book is newer (issued around 2009 I deem). However, is it better? I have the Old Navitimer I (B13019) from 1992 so I would like to read especially about vintage Breitling pieces.

Thank you in advance for all comments.

Adam

Hi,

I have a copy of Breitling The Book. Kindly sent to me and 9 others for a 10 person Breitling Meetup 10 years ago. Thank you Breitling Switzerland.

It’s simply beautiful. Stunning images, great history. However, I only looked a a few pages, so unsure of just how much detail is in there re the “Old” Navitimer. Oh I have one as well. Pretty isn’t it.

There is a forum member who put together an amazing website about the Navitimer, cannot recall his name. I’m sure Ron will remember tho.

As for the book. Mine is in the original delivery box and in safe storage. I think it’ll become a classic collectors item in time.

You're probably after http://kurt-b.com/

If you're after vintage, not much else to go for except Richter, but images in many places are poor and pricing of course is long out of date. I heard a rumour that maybe it will be updated in future.

As my old chum Davey says, I think if you can get a copy of the official Breitling book it's worth it, the history it covers is an excellent read.

Can't refuse a reply to this thread with two of 'The 10' already posted.

I can reiterate what they have said regarding, Breitling - The Book.

It's fantastic with probably all the info any Breitling enthusiast could want.

My copy is still in it's box also. I get it out from time to time to flick through a few pages.

Hope you are both well Stef and Davey.

Nick
