Hi all, Couple of days ago I bought a Breitling Superocean 44 special at an auction. Unfortunately I did not receive the papers with the watch. I also could not find any proof it is an original Breitling Superocean M17393. Can anyone help me out on how to check whether it is an original and not a replica? Or is the best tip go to an authorised Breitling dealer to check the serial number?  Thanks very much for your help! |

You cannot easyly determine if this is a fake or not. There is a 1:1 rep out of this watch. Go to an AD and let him open the caseback. I think with the COSC serial number engraved in the movement and with the serial number of the watch it will be possible to proof if it is a gen watch. He will also see if the movement is a decorated asian 2824 rep or a gen B17. Didn’t you receive anything else with the watch? Box, papers etc? Ask the seller for this!
