Watchfred has 13464 posts on this forum over many many years. He has helped countless collectors with advice, parts, and personal connections. Well over 1000 people have “liked” his posts here. His photos, along with a few other people, form the backbone of vintage Breitling social media, and he has been interviewed in many publications, in print and on-line. I’m not sure what the official title is, but he currently supports Breitling directly, travelling the world speaking at Company roadshows and collector events. Fred is in the CEOs speed dial. He had access to the company archives. He’s certainly in the top 3 scholarly league for vintage B as far as I’m aware.

Spot on, well said.

You however, not so much.

You show up on a forum that is undoubtedly home to the most knowledgable Breitling people, spout off things that are not true, spit on the Navitimer for good measure, and are somehow offended that people tell you where you are wrong. Definition of pseudo-authority. You’ve made no contribution at all to this forum other than this post and selling something, yet you want to hear with more authority than Fred? Hmm.

I’m sure you love your Sinn, and I’m sure it’s a well made watch, and there is a Sinn forum someplace that will make you feel loved.
+1 on this. Summed up very nicely :)

I imagine the offence is at the rudeness, not at being "wrong", allegedly.

I believe WatchFred had a direct hand in helping create and design the "new" re-edition of the Navitimer Ref 806, working directly with Breitling in the process. He may be the world's leading expert on these vintage models.

You really should know whom you are addressing when using such dismissive condescending remarks.

This thread has obviously evolved into a demonstration of blinding brand loyalty from hyper-sensitive types unable to tolerate divergent views, taking polite commentary as insult. Quite the insecure group.

Why don't you tell us how you really feel! :poke: :poke:

and please tell us what the "lack" in your pseudo stands for...

lack of discernment?
lack of respect for those who know what they're talking ablout?
lack of self-confidence?
all of the above?

To get a bit back to the backbone :) of the thread: my fav brand is Breitling but have a few other watches too. With liking the Sinn 142 (originally Lemania) design I've sold my Sinn 142 mainly because the inner bezel turning mechanism (by a crown at 10) proved to be simply unusable. And I like to wear and use my beloved watches too, with turning bezels playing an important role for me. (My mostly worn watch is the Chronomat 41.)
Once I've heard that Breitling keeps the Navi WR at 3 bars because giving a higher WR would radically alter the design. That's fine with me, I wonder though why the beautiful Grand Premier (1999) and Aviastar (1996-1998) used to stick to 3 bar WR. Despite having been parts of the Navi family they could have an easy 10 bar WR. But they are no less than 2 decades old, I'm sure if they'll have a re-issue some time these questions will have a positive answer...
Best,
Robert
