Post subject:  breitling chronomat 44 vs breitling blackbird big date

Hi guys, so the breitling chronomat 44 was the first watch that i was REALLY into, but i always had an issue with the offset date, and the font style on the bezel.
the blackbird big date seems to solve pretty much both those issues and the high polished style, the only downside being the eta movement as compared to the chronomat 44's B-01 (which i dont mind).

My only concern is the case/bracelet and the heft - is the blackbird case & bracelet the same as that of the chronomat 44?
I really liked the chronomats solid crown and the screw down pushers. If the blackbird big date has those exact same features, i'll be sold, but i've not handled one yet.

Thanks guys

I think I did this for you already somewhere else but here it is again. I found the Chronomat 44 to wear heavier than the Blackbird. I do not have the weight with bracelet figures to compare. The earlier bigdate Blackbirds that have the lume on all of the hands are very easy to live with and accurate. As an aside, the ETA calibers modified by Breitling can be worked on to some degree by a good watchmaker where as the B01 is strictly a Breitling repair if needed. I sold my B01 but hope to keep the Blackbird for as long as I am alive. Just my opinion so take it for what little it is worth.
Frank.

121.3 for the Blackbird

prefer the big date, firstly iconic model, love the case, dial and bracelet. secondly hate the buck rogers font on the chronomat, glad georges has done away with that
