The issue of price is an interesting one. The closest equivalent 1:1 re-edition (less the movement of course) was the 60th Anniversary Speedmaster, and that was much cheaper at release. That said, I acknowledge that the Speedy, while a limited edition, was available in much greater numbers. Despite that, the stock was reserved at a much faster rate than the 806 1959, and I wonder if the price has something to do with that?

If we talk about price, it is out of my league so I'm sorry about that, but I'm still happy that it appeared.

It is a limited edition and it has specially modified caliber B01 (while Omega has 1861), so I think the price is fair.

And it's price is, of course, much lower than I see for original vintage 806.

That's a reasonable point @Hunterfate. It’s not the first time Breitling did a manual version of the B01. Last time they modified it so that the chronograph operated on just one pusher and the watch cost US$9275. By that measure, this is cheap. I can only imagine what the 60th Anniversary Speedy would have cost if the soon to be released new cal. 321 was put inside.

the Omega was CHF 7,000 when launched in 2017, the 806 is 7,900 today, so in a very, very similar price range?

Actually, the Omega was CHF 6,700 in 2017, so CHF 1,200 difference. In the UK it was GBP 5,300, while the Breitling is GBP 6,520. In the US, $7685 vs $8600 and in Australia, AU$9725 vs AU$11,100.
