I chanced by this video:

Cant understand a word they are saying (other than in-houso chronographo! ), but that box looks fantastic! Do all new Breitlings come in that presentation? If not which ones get the special treatment?

Great job B :lingsrock: I think the packaging is a very important aspect of any luxury item and that scores extremely high!

Thanks for the reply Colin.

Really?! Very nice! I am eyeing a Panda Navitimer and if it comes with one of those boxes I might pull the trigger sooner rather than latter!

Just to be clear I am talking about the large box with the airlane engraving.

So I see two types of boxes there, a large and a small presentation. Which watches come in which?

I had guessed that gold Breitlings would come in the large and steel in the small? Or if its an LE?

Wow -- that's interesting!

To tell you the truth, though, I could just about stand getting my Breitlings in a paper bag, so long as they keep providing the leather travel cases. These are just so nice, and I use them all the time when traveling. I have received watches from other brands in extremely impressive wooden boxes. That being said, though, once the watch is put on my wrist, these lovely boxes are simply stowed away. I'd much rather have any given brand provide a nice travel case as Breitling does. Only one other brand, in my experience has done so -- GO (but not for every piece).

Agreed, the travel case is a nice touch, but I do not use it. There are better multi watch cases out there that allow you to travel with 3-5 watches in a compact case in your carry on as I always do.

Regarding the boxes, I actually use them to store the watches if they are nice enough, and only store the drab ones. Which is why you can find an Omega Speedmaster box in my watch shrine yet the JLC and IWC boxes are nowhere to be seen.

Good for Breitling, they are absolutely annihilating the competition! That box is fantastic! It shows there is a passionate team behind the watches that do not cheap out on any aspect of the user experience and take great pride in their product.

Wait a minute, I am excited about Breitling! This feels oddly familiar.....

I'm with Jim regarding the boxes. I see the boxes only 2x ever max. Once when I get the watch but I barely even glance at the box as I'm more eager to get to the contents of the box itself. Then off to the closet it goes. The only other time it ever sees the light of day is if the watch gets sold.

Agree with Altair about the travel cases though. There are very compact and cheap travel cases that do a good job protecting the watch. The Breitling ones are a little bulky to use regularly. I will use the black service cases sometimes though.

Well, guys -- as long as we're having this discussion, I'd be curious to know what recommendations you might have for other types of travel cases.

I have an IWC case that was given to me as a gift with a purchase that I use all the time, also Patek, Jaeger, and other brands make multi watch rolls/cases as customer gifts. If you have a good relationship with an AD just ask them, they might have a few and be willing to give you one.

I have stumbled upon a casemaker recently that seems to have good looking items. Will post a review once my sample arrives.

Agreed! Really like the very latest iteration of these (with the matching stitching and "B" logo).

As nice as the boxes are, they all just sit in a closet in my house. I get that they should be a little nicer, but it's not going to make me rush out and buy something. I'm just glad the leather used on the travel case for my SOHC is a lot nicer than it has been in the past.

Really? No one else uses the boxes to display their watches?

I rather enjoy using the supplied box if it’s nice enough. The ones from Blancpain, Patek, and these Breitling boxes are too nice to store away and are a functional piece of decor, I highely recommend storing these fine pieces in their original boxes in a display wherever you get dressed at home. It makes waking up in the morning almost worth it ;)

Anyway, let’s figure out which models get the big box and which the smaller ones. Curious regardless.

That watch in the video, is it the standard bronze dial? It looks gray? Might it be an LE?

I think that's just the bronze dial that you posted about on the other thread.

Hopefully Fred can clarify what models come with the new style box. I could see that only being offered with gold models, similar to the way they used to give the wooden boxes for gold models. It's weird they would already introduce a new box just shortly after changing them up for the blue style that came with my Superocean.
