Hello all,

As many of you know, Breitling started selling the new Navitimer 01 in the stores about 4 months ago. They all have 2 lines on the dial. One says Navitimer and the other says Breitling. The ceo of Breitling confirmed a few weeks ago on social media that from now on, they will stop selling the 2 line Navitimers and that from now on, they will have 3 lines on the dial with the word chronometer added. Also, the logo and font on the 3 liners is bigger than on the 2 liners. What do you think will happen with the value of the 2 line Navitimers?.

I think it will make absolutely zero difference in regard to value. I don't think the 2 line vs 3 line will result in any type of collectibility factor at all. I think the 3 line and bigger logo fills the space a bit better but I wouldn't pay any more or less for 1 vs the other.

I agree with @natesen that it will make zero difference now or into the future. I see zero price difference between two- and four-line five-digit Rolex Submariners (all other things being equal) in the marketplace, and Rolex guys are the nuttiest when it come to price differentiation on details. Breitling guys have never been like that and I don’t think they are about to start.

We aren't talking about Rolex here where a minute detail sends grown men shrieking in excitement, this will most likely have no impact. I would keep the dial as is however, having a watch opened and modified in anyway can result in lowering its value.
