I really like. It's got the vintage vibe but the modern in house movement that has proved very reliable in the watches I've owned with it. I get the vintage style strap but I've never been a fan of the aero racer bracelet. When Kern references the "meche" bracelet, does that mean the mesh? I'm thinking it does, but just want to make sure. I think it would look great on the standard Navitimer bracelet though.

My only hesitation is probably one of things I like most about, the pop of color. As everyone knows, I really considered getting the Omega Mark II with the racing dial which also had orange accents. As much as I like it, I'm just not sure I could pull the trigger on something with a little orange on it. I know it's minor, but I'm not in position to buy it now anyway. It is a good sign and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the capsule collection.

Nice dial, but I don't work for Swissair so I would not like having the logo on the case back.

The blue version for PanAm is amazing. My only hesitation is similar to what spowell mentioned that I don’t have a tie to the airlines that these are being built for.

that’s why the logo is on the back ;)

It’s a stretch, i know. If the airline tie is the only thing I’m not completely sold on, then this watch is a winner. If this had been announced a month ago, I could potentially see calling George this morning to get me this rather than the SOHC.

I’d post a picture of the PanAm version but I’m only on my phone and it’s a pain to do it.

OK — I am loving this one. I was wondering whether there might be a Pan Am version, and I guess that question’s been answered. As a Pan Am enthusiast, my trigger finger is twitching.

BTW, Fred — what is the "vintage" leather strap?

Not a massive fan of what I have seen of the 1159

I find the case on the AP to be quite intriguing.

I like the AP case and the movement but the dial is nothing special. I think the JLC Polaris has a similar look for the dial but actually looks nicer. And for a fraction of the cost.
