Whats the position on group buys? If its ok I think I might score the group a decent price from a reputable AD in the US if theres emough interest. So if you are interested in a Navitimer World (we will have to see about dials later) at a considerable discount please post here.

I just noticed (The wife is going to kill me....).

Ha! Ha!

My wife has already told me I'm done for awhile. I'm sure if I buying for her it would be okay.

Maybe not a World for me as I've got one, but I love the idea of group discounts. Do you reckon it's a potential go-er?

(Maybe a little tough for us non-Canada residents to organise though.... :( )

Likewise not a world for me, but the concept is sound - walk into an AD and offer them a purchase of 10 or so watches if the price is right and they will fall over themselves - their costs are (more or less) the same for a one watch sale as for a multi-watch sale.

As for non US / Canadian buyers - I'm sure that either an AD or one of us can ship to you - may be a duty issue at your end, but price may make it worthwhile.

Precicely, if we can muster up 10 buyers I believe a discount of 35-40% is very much possible if not more. I need to see if there is enough interest before I start contacting retailers though. Payment is another issue, there will have to be some sort of direct payment to the AD. I mean im sure we are all trust worthy but trusting any one met over the net with 30-40 000 USD is just stupid.

We have 6 people so far, another 4 and Ill see whats up.

Have you already looked into this a bit then Altair? If a discount like that might be available, then it would be a serious bargain........... especially for me with the current exchange rates!

That's another good point - with the US$ so weak right now it's a perfect time to buy from a US AD

Yes, many thanks to the current US administration for helping to weaken the dollar even further.

Actually yes I have, aparentely 40% off Breitlings is not that uncommon according to the guys at a certine watch forum, and I already have 30% off from a certine retailer. The version we are getting is the straped one, I am still holding out for a better deal, I cant promise anything other than giving this my best shot but I do believe the world strapped coul;d be attained for 3000-3300 USD

I have to say I'd be very tempted to buy another World for that sort of money. I've always thought it looks great with an ivory dial on a brown strap - would be great to have a choice!
