I’ve seen several Chrono-matic 2111 all with 1969 serial numbers with the black surfboard dial on EBay recently all of which appear to have new bright orange hands (that maybe replacements especially as I believe the red sub dial should only be on the left side facing and it isn't on one of the ones I've seen for sale). The cases look correct but the cal 11 movements on each seem very clean (perhaps too clean) and possibly not as crisply stamped as I might expect - I wondered if these could be fakes. I just took and punt and bought one from a fellow who said it was his uncles who was the original purchaser that appears to have a good case and dial at least. No papers no box. Its possible that uncle had the hands and crystal replaced following an accident especially as there seems to be a circle scratch from something caught under the hands at some point. Any views as to whether this one is authentic, a frankenwatch or a complete fake? This was item # 223113168533 on Ebay. Photos attached. very clearly NOT fake, hands may be later service replacements, no issue for me. |

Call 11 were not exactly common and would be surprised if there was a box kicking around... |
