Hi guys,

I am new to this great forum and I am from london, england.
I first had a Rolex air king then I upgraded to a cartier santos xl. I found both watches to be either too feminine or to too old looking.
I am now on the pursuit for a breitling..hopefully before november.
I am interested in buying a leather/croc strap chrono evolution with a black face and silver dials which I believe sells for £2600. But I believe the superoceon sells for £600 less in the same spec.

Could you please tell me why the evolution is better? has it got a bigger face? better details? what choice would you make?

The Chronomat Evolution in particular looks really good on a leather or croc strap.

The Evolution is bigger than the CSO, and has what I feel to be a nicer dial.

+1

I like both, but I like the Evolution a bit better.

Bracelet! Bracelet! Bracelet! Bracelet!

I only wear mine on a Bracelet, but of all the Breitlings that I've tried on with Straps, I have to say that along with the Navitimers, the Chronomat Evo is one of the best looking on a strap.

I could see that. I just love a Breitling on a bracelet.

Width: CSO is 42mm vs EVO at 43.7mm
Thickness: CSO 15.1mm vs EVO at 17.1mm

EVO is Chronometer certified meaning it's accuracy is tested and verified by the Swiss Standards body (COSC)
I don't think the Superocean gets the same treatment.

Depth: Superocean is rated up to 1650 feet the EVO is 1000 feet

Both use the caliber 13 movement.

Hope this helps... I've been comparing these two for some time now....

Ray

All Breitling watches (except the UTC/Copilot) are chronometer certified.
The main difference besides the size and the massiveness of the case, is, that You cannot wear the CSO with a pilot bracelet (which is the best watchbracelet on the market at the moment).

Personally I just think the Evo is just a far more handsome watch. I'm just not a huge fan of the day window on the CSO : I think it makes the dial a little cluttered (No offence to you CSO owners out there - just a personal opinion)

Sorry this bit isn't really related to this thread at all, but I love your "Bling meter" there Brian! Fantastic stuff, and should be used more often on here! 8)

I feel the Windrider series looks much better with a bracelet, but its your choice ultimately and you will have to live with it so take your time and dont let otherrs choose for you.

Great meter Brian, het Admin how about one more emoticon?????

I'm not doubting you , byt how come the EVO has "chrone certified" written on it's face ? Wheras the CSO does not?

I'm guessing Breitling possibly just couldn't fit the words on the dial. There is a lot going on on that dial already and it's not a huge watch. But Alien is absolutely correct - all Breitlings are chronometer rated.

Thanks for that clarification, but it kinda makes wonder why the Evo is nearly 1000 more expensice than the CSO, it can't be all down to the bracelet... can it?

Skill, I got your PM but for some reason my reply is stuck in my outbox.

Anyway... here is my reply.
There are not too many UK/Ireland poeple on the forum so it's nice to meet someone in this region.
I'm also torn between the Chrono Superocean and Evo...

I've spoken to watchfinder and thsy have a 4-6 week waiting period for most watches. They don't hold stock but rather they wait for your order before "finding" a watch.
The other thing is that they are not an approved dealer, my guess is they source the watches in Asia (Singapore etc) where for example the Chrono Superocean is 30% less than the list price here.

They claim the watches are with full internatinal warranty and have a dealers stamp (they don't know who the dealer is until they have it in stock).

For me I would save 500 euro (350 stg) which is ok but I would be taking a risk on these guys.

Let me know how you get on with them.

Thank you all for the positive replies.
I think I am now going to go for the BCE which cost about £2600 from ernest Jones. My next question is that I have been advised to only buy pr-worned to save on the cash..but then the authorized dealers tell me that it is not a good idea and Breitling to do not sell to websites.
I want to buy this evolution this month but surely I can get a better price than this.
What are your opinions.
