The Breitling Watch Source Forums

I'm looking at a Breitling for sale on eBay.
Its a D13050, Chronomat Vitesse.
The problem is it only shows 4 digits for a serial number. I never heard of a Breitling with only 4 digits in the serial number.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.

It is an older model, any possibility that some of the serials numbers have been polished off?

I have owned six Breitlings with four digit serial numbers. All from the pre 2000 era. By 2000 some were five digits, some six. The earliest seven digit serial I have is from 2008. The more limited model Chronomats such as D & K models are often four digits.
