My Breitling Pluton finally died and Breitling has discontinued it with parts unavailable. Breitling offered me $1000 off any non precious metal watch from list price. (not a good deal) I am looking at used B1 watches. Can anyone educate me, is it worth the extra $1000 price tag for a newer (78632) vs the older 68632. Any differences besides year of manufacture and Super Quartz name. (not sure if movement/quartz set is actually different) Frank |

SuperQuartz is what it says, a super quartz. The movement is far more accurate, although to most punters this will make absolutely no difference. |

Fix the Pluton. Donor movements can be had for around $50. |

I have bought them as cheap as $5 before working perfectly. Pulsar, Seiko, Phasar and many others used the same Miyota movement. I usually keep a few around just in case someone gives up on their Breitling and sells. Takes me about 15 minutes to swap the movements out on my kitchen table. ![]() |

I’ve purchased a used B1 but would love to have my Pluton working as an everyday watch. How do you recommend I find a donor movement or can you recommend a watch repair shop. The one I called hadn’t heard of it.![]() Frank |
