You know something’s off when the best re-edition of your vintage Breitling says Rado on the dial...

Not sure that is really fair to Rado given that the recent Captain Cook is a re-edition of an original 1960s model, but I will admit the similarity of the bezel shape between it and the original SuperOcean are obvious.

To me it looks like a simple rework of the discontinued Steelfish Chronograph A1334.

I don't think so.
2 features in common:
- size: 44 mm.
- caliber: day-date Valjoux 7750.
8 differences:
- case and hands shape.
- waterresistance: 20 vs. 50 ATM.
- case height: 16.2 vs. 17.2 mm.
- hour markers: applied vs. printed.
- pushers: simple vs. screw-down.
- bezel: ceramic-inlay vs. all-steel.
- bracelet: mesh vs. Professional.
- dial color: tone-in-tone vs. contrast.
I think SOHC is better as an everyday watch (an would be even way better as a 40-42 mm watch...) if you prefer day-date and saving to in-house and tri-compax, while SOH Steelfish is better as a week-end/holiday/beach/sports watch with better waterresistance rating and screw-down pushers.
Best,
Robert

I get that, I just meant in terms of looks it bears a resemblance to the Steelfish Chrono which I also believe to be a better bang for buck prospect than the new model.

I'm in the market for a SOH but i'm going to be looking at the model with no sub dials. Looks much nicer and cleaner imo and sets it apart from other divers.

Don't like the new bezel one little bit btw and the face looks too busy now. This is the one i'm looking at.

Could anyone tell me what movement that houses? Thanks.

Looks like that one is the B20, Tudor based movement.

Thanks. Just had a read up on the B20 and you're right. It's in the SOH that I posted. I'm glad to read that's it's a good well engineered and reliable movement. :)

They’ve all been "good well engineered and reliable movement(s)" in that watch.
