Post subject: | SINN and Briteling |
I'm new to this forum so forgive me if this has come up before... I've just become aware that SINN make very similar watches to Breitling due to the fact that they "obtained" the designs and tools from Breitling in the 1970's after Breitling went bust. I was considering a Breitling Superocean but now I see a "ligitimate copy" from SINN with a much lower price tag. Not that I would even consider a SINN watch (I've never heard of them before), but it does undermine the Britling brand somewhat. Now I'm not so sure that Breitling is the brand for me..... help me please! |

I don't think Sinn watches undermine the Breitling brand one bit. They are fantastic watches in themselves but aside from the 903 series, which look like the Navitimer, they dont have any models that look anything like a SuperOcean. I've owned some Sinn watches in the past and they make a great product. You can get the 903 (which is like the Navitimer) for just under $3000. If you're not sure if the Breitling brand is for you, don't buy it. You don't want regrets later! |

![]() Well said admin, in my book Sinn can be a nice watch but it just doesnt hold a torch to a Breitling, but its not about what I like, its YOUR watch so try both and see which one smiles back at you. |

When a Sinn is brandnew, it might look quite good. But when You compare a 2 year worn Sinn with a 2 year worn Navitimer or Evolution, You know, why the Sinn was a lot cheaper... BG Thomas |

Thomas, Which part of the Sinn is inferiorly made? Many of the new Sinn models have that Tegiment coating and stuff, and their cases are supposed to be very hard stainless. Not challenging you or anything, curious because I always felt Sinn's were extremely well made and that they cut corners in dial and movement decoration, not so much the quality of the cases. |

Hello admin, it is not, when You compare a brandnew watch, but when I sometimes meet pilot coleges, who tell me, they don't need a Breitling, because a Sinn is a lot better, then I see the watch on their wrists. They look already crappy, even if they are only a year old. It just a personal experience. I have never investigated the problem any closer. Best Greetings Thomas |
