cheers Why would you need a slide rule for that - it's obvious that you're better off with a 1ltr bottle rather than a 750cl bottle. Goes without saying 
Oh - by the way: UK nanny state says drink sinsibly or some such rubbish and would frown on you buying a bottle that size!
