OK, so this is a lament for the TOC/GMT, which has now disappeared from Breitling's line-up. It was only ever offered as a limited edition, and perhaps the sales never took off. I am sad to see it go, and hope that at some point it may return.

For me, the most useful travel watch is one that has both a chronograph and a GMT function, and is versatile enough to wear casually, as well as in a business setting (in other words, no external rotating bezel). I had been looking for this kind of combination for some time before I discovered the TOC/GMT. To my mind, it is one of the nicest watches out there with this particular combination, bar none.

I think it would make sense for Breitling to bring back a GMT to the Transocean line. (Hey -- if you're crossing oceans, you need a GMT!!!) Offering GMT versions of the standard TOC would be great -- much the same as Breitling does with the Chronomat.

Ah, well. Guess we'll see what happens down the road. In the meantime, when I'm traveling, this one will be along for the ride...

That has always been one of my favorites as well and I've been keeping my eye on the used market for one of these. I love the subtle texture of the dial and the red GMT hand is very well executed. I agree that it is a wonderful all around travel watch that is very flexible and can be worn in any situation. I don't know why it didn't seem to sell very well as I think its a beautiful watch.

Agreed, natesen.

The particular guilloché pattern on the dial mirrors the pattern of the mesh bracelet -- a really nice, subtle touch.
