Hello All, Archie42 here..... This is our (me and wife's) current selection of watches..... This is the box that stays in the safe most of the time (next to the Smith and Weston).... hence the reason I need a 4th watch to complete our rule of 4 watches each..... and 3 watches each remain in the secure safe. After careful consideration I will be adding a Rolex President OR TT Blue Sub.... or if money is tight a white dial explorer II. I love all 3 of these..... The box selection is our finest selection of chocolates.... oops ... watches. These were all chosen after long thought and experimenting.... My wife went throught the Patek phase owing 2 pateks at one stage.... she has also passed up an Omega Constellation, AP Two Tone, Gold Choppard ..... I have passed up a few good watches also..... Patek Calatrava 3944 (quartz) ... JLC Yellow gold reverso.... 16014 and 16234 Rolexes...... CURRENT PREMIUM SELECION:- Ladies Cartier Diablo 18K Solid gold, Diablo never came in the cheaper must de gold plated range.... rare ... expensive and the most beautiful blue..... we have the mini size here.... for my petite Japanese wife (she is a premium selection choice also!) Ladies Rolex President 69178 with factory diamond dial Rolex President... the big $$$$ watch.... when a lady needs to descretely tell others - I GOT MORE MONEY THAN YOU! ..... Fitted an aftermarket Diamond bezel (retained the original gold bezel in the safe)..... CLASS STYLE and the ultimate Rolex for a small Japanese lady.... - PLEASE DO NOT MENTION PEARL MASTER TO HER..... Ladies Cartier Diamond Line VLC The is the solid 18K version and not the cheaper Must de gold plated one.... fitted with Cartier factory diamonds... hideous money when new.... This piece also has the 18K deployment clasp (you can't see this in the photo)... MENS - Omega Speedmaster Pro The Man on the Moon watch.... classic Omega... the world most famous sports watch..... Very reasonable money..... I have fitted the newer style Speedmaster bracelet - I do have a 1171 bracelet but it feels like crap (sorry) MENS - Rolex 16233 with factory diamond dial CLASS CLASS what a beautiful watch.... a dress watch for all occassions including the skinny dip with the wench from work at the x-mas party.... MENS - Breitling Navitimer - Old Navitimer II Classic Breitling with the braclet.... I think alot more classier with the bracelet.... Personally I prefer the 6,9,12 eyes as quickset date is also gained.... ![]() |

JUST ADDED A NEW WATCH .... and it is QUARTZ!@! I have posted before about wanting 4 good watches.... I already own a Breitling Navitimer, Omega Speedmaster and Rolex Two Tone DateJust with diamond dial. ANYHOW.... I was seriously thinking of adding a President or TT Sub or Explorer II .... BUT I ADDED A QUARTZ WATCH INSTEAD.... This is partially because I got a super deal on said watch.... A few other reasons are as follows:- 1) My inheritance that was coming.... HAS NOT ARRIVED YET! Very slack executor (not really wanting to push the matter with a family member.... so I will wait) 2) The Australian dollar is at record lows.... last year it was almost parity with the US $..... but since the GFC it is in the $0.62 - $0.67 range. This makes any US $ based purchase very expensive..... like 40% more expensive than before..... 3) I wanted to own 4 different brands... not having 2 of the same brand in my small 4 piece collection.... 4) I like the idea of having the 3 different movement types covered.... Manual wind (Omega Speedie), Auto (Breitling & Rolex) and Quartz (Cartier) 5) I always like the moonphase feature. The watch I chose is a CARTIER TWO TONE LARGE SIZE MENS SANTOS WITH MOONPHASE. I paid AUS$2500- for the watch (about US$1605-) Admittedly that is because quartz is very soft at the moment.... BUT - Cartier has never been a movement watch (like a Patek is bought for the beauty of the machine).... a Cartier is bought for the stunning outside design excellence..... AT HOME WITH THE OTHERS! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
