Just wondering is I’m doing this right! I went to this site http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java synchronized my watch to it’s time with seconds, about five day ago now by my watch it’s running about 20 seconds ahead of it. Is this something to worry about? (Watch is about a month old, chromomat Evo)

I guess I’m just a bit obsessed with the accuracy of this watch.

Hello harleyboy,

You have a mechanical chronometer. This type of movement is subject to all kinds of influences from the wearer and the outside, like movement, temperature, magnetic influences and many other things. You cannot expect it to be as accurate as a good quartz watch.

But it is a piece of art and craftmanship, developed for the last 500 years.

Best greatings
Thomas

20 seconds within 5 days is within normal parameters - the COSC certification is for a range of -4 - +6 seconds in a 24 hour period. Additionally, a new watch may take 4 - 6 weeks to stabilise.

4 seconds a day is nothing to worry about.
