Post subject: | Insurance Value |
Hello, I was the proud owner of a Breitling Chrono Avenger M1 Yellow Dial Titanium which I have had for around 10 years or more. Unfortunately despite hunting high and low in the house I cannot find it anywhere - I can only assume the pin has come loose and it's dropped off my wrist at some point. It should be insured via individual items up to £5000. My question is how do I get a fair valuation at this point in time - I wore it nearly every day but it was still in good condition, when I bought it I paid around £2000 for it but to get an equivalent would now cost way more than this. Before I contact my insurance co I wanted to check if anyone has been through this scenario before and how they went about getting it valued. I have a valuation from Ernest Jones from 2009 where it was valued at around £2300 - any help would be greatly appreciated. For now I'm back to my trusty SuperOcean Professional! Thanks in advance, T |

You'll need a 'post loss assessment'. I believe Goldsmiths/Ernest Jones will do one, if not check for a local NAG/IRV registered valuer here: http://www.jewelleryvaluers.org/Find-a-valuer |
