Does anyone have a tutorial or point me in the direction on how to take the bezel off of a colt. Thanks

I think there are Breitling bezel removal videos on YouTube, but it's very simple anyway. Just loosen the screws round the edge of the bezel (note - there's no need to take the screws all the way out) while keeping pressure on the bezel, and it will just lift off. Be careful not to lose the springy piece of metal underneath (the click spring) as that is what provides the bezel clicks and prevents it from just spinning freely. (Incidentally the click spring is why you need to keep a little pressure on the bezel when removing the screws as it will try to push the bezel upwards).

When you come to replace the bezel, make sure the click spring is seated correctly. There is usually a hole at the 12 o'clock position for the click-spring to seat itself in. (I've not removed a Colt bezel myself, but I've done it on SOSF's, SO's and Chronomats so I assume it's the same arrangement underneath the bezel). Place the bezel back over the top of the click spring, and you will need to keep pressure on it against the spring while you tighten up the screws : this is why it's helpful to not fully remove the screws in the first place. You will need to keep pressure on the bezel against the spring until you have done up at least two or three of the screws, then it's just a case of replacing the other screws.

Couple of points to note -

1. Make sure you use a quality screwdriver in the correct size. I cannot stress this enough.
2. Go slowly with the screwdriver as a slip is likely to mark the bezel.
3. Don't over-tighten the screws too much or you will deform the screwheads (aesthetically not nice!) and you may strip the threads.
4. Periodically check the screws don't come loose after removing the bezel.
5. Any of this you do entirely at your own risk!

Seems that on the new models the bezel isn't automatically pushed up off the case by the click spring. On the older models you wouldn't need to use a case opener (or indeed anything) to pry the bezel up as it'd come off easily on it's own.
