I am really not trying to open older wounds. I'm taking a real hard look at the B50, it's really caught my attention. But, being a research nerd, I've seen the reports of the various issues the watch has had. Is there recent (end of July 2016) feedback on whether Breitling has gotten the bugs out of the B50?

Thanks, Henry

Mine is a May 2015 purchase and has been flawless. Very low battery consumption, dead on time keeping and all functions work as they should. It is almost always on my wrist, so much so that I started selling some other Breitlings that I just never wear anymore...

Termite, curious what B50 you have and what other Breitlings you stopped wearing?

I'm new to the Breitling brand but I'm quickly becoming a fan. Having said that, just looking at this forum, I see three threads about B50 failures of one type or another. That's..kind of worrisome.

The B50 Cockpit was first introduced at Basel World 2014. Most of the issues reported here affected very early production watches. Most, if not all, the kinks were ironed out by the second quarter of 2015. Great watch, one of the best SQ Breitling produces at the moment.

I have the black face B50. I bought it on the bracelet but wear it on the rubber with the Ti deployment. I have sold a few Breitlings lately and gave my wife my coral Emergency with the coral UTC bracelet. My other military frequency Emergency and Cosmonaute have not come out of the watch box since I bought the B50...the only other watch that I wear these days is a GP Seahawk II PRO when I need some water resistance.

Been very happy with my B50 Night Mission. The watch has really meet and exceed all my expectations. It gets the most if not all of my wrist time.

Ever since since I started wearing the B50 my Aerospace has not come out of its box. I will probably keep the Aerospace for times I need something a bit dressier since it has the Pro II bracelet or just want to change for a while.

The B50 Night Mission is a terrific piece and these new in house SQ multifunction movement really take the Breitling Ana digi game to a whole
New level.

If you enjoy this type of timepiece, I highly recommend it. Comfortable, light and wears just great in despite of the 46mm by 16mm case dimensions. The watch only weighs 95 grams on the pro iii diver rubber. Did I say the deployant with ratchet micro adjust is fabulous??

I would also venture to say that the B50 is a much better buy over the long haul vs the B55 Exospace. Bluetooth will become obsolete in a few short years and the added premium of that model is hard to justify. And looks like the Bluetooth connectivity range is not that great either. Seems hit or miss.

The B50 has a beautifully sculpted and finished case that is akin to the Emergency II, gorgeous dial and domed dual AR coated sapphire. The Exospace has a flat Crystal and more toolish appearance. If you look closer, the B55 is a 46mm Aerospace case with pushers. Nothing wrong with that just pointing out that the case design and girth between these 2 models is completely different.

Hi, I am very interested in B50 cockpit. I have read that the battery should have a 10 years life (about 300/350 cycles), but my doubt is: what happens when I'll have to change the battery in 2026??? Will I find a new one? Where? How much will it cost??
B50 is an expensive watch, and I do not want to throw it away in 10 years time...

I'm pretty sure most manufacturers must keep parts for about 20years minimum. I'd be more worried about Bluetooth replacement.

On a side note to the thread, they're nice watches. I've got a Suunto as my beater with Bluetooth notifications. Unbelievably useful feature for me. The Suunto will alert me even 15m away from the phone tucked in a bag. Another poster said the exospace only works 6ft or so away. If so that's disappointing.

You can still find batteries for Quartz watches manufactured in the early 1970s. A non issue if you ask me...

Battery will cost approximately $290 in 2016 dollars. I was told by Breitling that it gets replaced on either a battery service or full overhaul around year 10.
