hi does anyone know when the date should change on my cockpit,I mean should it flick over at exactly midnight or is there a tolerance when it changes ,checked my watch last night at about 11.50 and it had already clicked over to 30, and it was definately on the 29th when i put it on about 7pm. george |

Date should change +/-5 min. from midnight. It's not a strict rule, but on most watches it works that way. |

Don't know what a Cal 49 does, but on a Cal 13, the date begins moving before 11.30pm. I haven't noticed if it suddenly clicks over. |

My 17 cal. start moving around 23:40, and click +/-2 min. from midnight. |

Calibre 13 is well known for having a long date change cycle and it often finally clicks in a few minutes either side of 12. |

At 10:30pm last night I thought it would be good to wind the date from 30 to 31 so that it later adjusted to 1 for the date. Unfortunately when I pulled out the crown and tired to adjust it got stuck half way...... I fixed it by pulling crown out completely and adjusting the time..... I was a bit scared I damaged it! Anone else have a similar issue? |

Anone else have a similar issue? You may well have damaged it. Adjusting the quick set date mechanism between 8pm and 3am is an absolute no-no. There is a good chance of stripping the teeth on the date change mechanism. Hopefully the sticking prevented anything from breaking - you'll find out next time the date changes. Incidentally, you shouldn't move the date forward in the PM anyway as you will offset the date change by 12 hours. Either do it in the am or wind time forward. |

I have no problem with changing the date in the PM. Did it yesterday around 2 or 3 PM. |

It's ok to do that, it clicked at midnight. Speaking of things that are never done, I don't even look at the crown between 6 PM and 4 AM.

I have one of the new dial cockpits and have noticed that if it is fully wound the date changes over at 45 seconds after midnight, if not fully wound then it is around a minute after midnight. Looking at the various comments for those who do not know the cockpit flips the date instantly when it changes, it is not a drawn out process, I love to hear the souns as it changes, reminds me of those early flip style digital clocks that were around 40 years ago! I find it really odd that yours flips ten minutes before, that seems way out of tolerance ! |

I would agree with most here saying within 5 minutes before and or 5 mins after 12 midnight. DO NOT BY ANY MEANS ANYONE CHANGE THE DATE DURING 8PM TO 3AM HOURS THIS IS A DANGER ZONE AND CAN SEVERLY DAMAGE THE MECHANISM BUILT INTO AUTOMATIC WATCHES regards and enjoy all! nick

my navitimer world date changes all over the place. it would slowly start to change around 10:30pm-11pm each night and finishes up around 12:30am or so. i've noticed on even days (2,4,6,18 ) it clicks over faster (around 12:05-12:10) than odd days (12:30-12:40). is this normal for the a24s movement? i've sent it in once to breitling when it would consistently change around 3:00-3:15am and they said the datewheel was broken. now it's all out of whack. there might be some truth about the navi worlds having lots of problems. |
