I wonder if any of you knowledgeable types might know when the styling of the Airwolf dial (A78363) changed, and in which order?

I've just picked up a 'vertical pinstripe' version, which I thought preceded the 'Starburst' dial version. However, this has a 1.06 million serial number, and the 2 Seawolf models I've owned before had smaller serial numbers, in the 900k range, but both featured the 'Starburst' dial - have I got it backwards, did the 'pinstripe' version come later?

I appreciate that the production run on the Airwolf was quite short (2007-2010?), so it's not hugely important in the scheme of things, but perhaps I've picked up a later version than I originally thought? The chap I got it from thought it was 2010, but I assumed it must have been an earlier iteration...

Any insight much appreciated!

Cheers,

Pretty sure the sunburst one came first. I never liked that one much. The "tuxedo " dial suited it better in my opinion.

Thanks for that Steve,

I'd convinced myself that the 'Starburst' was the later version - hard to keep track of these things  !

I'm not sure which version I prefer - the 'Starburst' made it easy to differentiate the Airwolf from the B1, but the 'Tuxedo' has a certain restrained elegance.

Suffice to say that I'm happy with either, and as a child of the 80's, I do like a multi-function ana-digi! And finding out that a recent arrival is younger than you thought is always nice....

Follow up - just found an old thread on TZ-UK discussing the merits of the Breitling Ana-Digi series - (Aerospace, B1, Airwolf, Chronospace) - and in post #6, the author refers to the 'non-tuxedo' dial being the 2007-2009 version, so presumably the Tuxedo WAS the later version

Thread is here: http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.php?2 ... take-again

Thanks again Steve.

I can confirm the sunburst/turbine face was the original, followed by the pinstripe dial. The turbine dial
Matches the back of the case nicely.
