The case is described as black titanium. How rugged will that be? Can it chip? It's not the same as PVD or DLC, is it? Thanks. |

It's a DLC coating just like the Blacksteel models. And as such it certainly IS possible to damage the coating, and possibly even more so than on a Blacksteel model as the underlying titanium that Breitling uses (Grade 2) is softer than stainless steel. That said, DLC is pretty tough, especially against abrasion-type damage, but as many Blacksteel owners will attest to, it definitely IS possible to damage it. |
