I'm sure everyone else got this emailed to them but I guess I'll start the discussion. I know it's not a huge change, but I actually like the square subdials on this.

Eww
I'm not convinced that it's a cohesive design. So many different shapes, fonts, facets etc.

I'd have to see it in the flesh to be sure but I won't be selling my Blackbird in any hurry.

I do, too.

As a pure design aesthetic the square subdials appeal to me, however they are a little too reminiscent of iconic watches of the past (from Breitling and others) to seem quite right here. Glad to see the global glut of DLC coating continues

I kinda like the square sub dials, maybe re-introduce on some new models.
Don't really like the all black Chronomat with vintage lume - too dark for me.

The bezel is round the sub dials should also be! Doesn't look uniform to me but everyone has their own opinions.

Defining elegance through its sleek case while projecting a forceful image via cross referencing of geometry(square) on the dial and bezel is a modern iconic feature of the Chronomat 44, and seems here to stay. While many feel that it makes the aesthetics dated, my opinion is, Why not? It is indeed a model born in our era and having new unique elements on the model enhances its breakthrough that will be remembered many years later when it becomes a classic. I am one of the very very few who has been a fan of the design as the details of the piece never bores me after so long. At least it doesn't look like "just another watch", but still not over the top.

I was a little surprised to see Breitling evolving the design this way. Well, looks more conservative while still retaining the iconic feature and intent of the Chronomat design. That's quite a clever move IMO. I don't hate it, but I don't really like it either as I am always skeptical about adopting a non-circular shape on a meter scale, especially Chronograph. Aesthetics wise it's ok, and I am quite impressed that the legibility of the sub dials doesn't seem affected by the change of geometry. However it kills some details IMO. Will never burn my pocket for a DLC anyway. Let's see what else they come out with for Basel 2016.

I guess I'm indifferent, not really liking it but I don't hate it either. If it weren't DLC then I would be way more interested.

I always find that Breitlings look a lot different in the flesh compared to their renderings, but I love the look of this one.

Love the sub-dials, tired of the non-stop DLC.

Dial is beautiful. DLC is meh.

:yeahthat I really like the square subdials, and I've liked the vintage lume since the Frecce Tricolori, but YET ANOTHER DLC just leaves me cold. What I usually say at this point whenever a new DLC model turns up, still holds true - i.e. if it was made of ceramic.............

Ceramic would be great. Short of that, it would be nice to see a few more satin finish options in place of DLC.

Just noticed the new strap on this one: "Military Rubber" (see photos on Breitling site)
