I just wondered if any on here were considering this watch as a potential purchase? I think the watch looks fantastic, but given the price and unique (and fairly specific) features whether this would put people off?

It seems, unless you're a pilot, the main features (Bluetooth App) will be nothing more than a "gimmick"?

The B50 (which I own) is obviously targeted at the aviation sector, although to a much lesser extent than the B55? Great looking watch though....

I to am looking forward to your reply! I have considered one and am not a pilot. I love the look, and think the app is nice. Probably better choice out there for me, but I just think its really cool!

ok, here is the deal,
the watch is quite similar to the B50 Cockpit, but with the aerospace kind of bazel.
the app is really cooooool, since the display not only shows you have a message, but also who is sending it to you, same with whats up, etc.
you can also handle the watch directly from the App, instead that from the crown.
the only issue is that you have to be really close to the watch to be at range.
therefore, if you are on a meeting, you can have your phone in your pocket, and the watch will tell you who is calling, etc.
but if you have the watch like more than 9 feet away or so, it looses connection, so it is not an option to be far away from your phone. on the upside, at least on my case, I never away form my phone anyways...

it looks and feels great on the wrist, and slightly rougher look than the B50 (which I also have).

the blue strap looks cool and sporty.

hope this helps, open to answer specific questions as well

cheers!!!

I can't help wondering if the B55 bezel with its pip and timer markings would fit on a B50. That's the only real flaw I see in the B50.

I recently tried on the blue version. Very nice watch. I'm tempted to add it to my airwolf. More sporty and sharp, whereas the airwolf is civilized.

yes i have a b55 , i opted for the more subtle brushed titanium with the titanium fighter bracelet , how ever upon connecting it to my phone i noticed the last digit on the bottom display was not fully functional !! this was before i had even removed the plastic protection from the straps , as the watch was purchased from abroad the option of returning to the original point of purchase was not an option . so a journey to ernest jones (ouch) to be told "yeah mate it'll be 10 weeks" then he put the watch down on a glass surface , i moved it to the leather pad , before he put the watch in a plastic money bag ! I'm now 1 month without the watch , and the actions of the assistant are constantly re-emerging around my head . when (eventually) the watch returns what state wilt be in ? will it have to go back ? i"ll keep you informed

Yep, most people don't give a toss about anything apart from themselves these days. They say they do but don't.
Good luck with the b55.

Breitling will treat your watch with kid gloves. But I am always annoyed when my AD's staff fold the bracelet onto the case back rather than laying it crown upwards on the counter pad. Surely a training issue.

Got my B55 back in August and I love it! Quick charging helps and battery last quite long on each charge. The B55 is especially useful for a frequent traveller with it's quick time swap.

I started a similar thread a while back.

Interested in the opinions about longevity of Bluetooth.
