Post subject:  A Proper Introduction for the New Arrival

When Tudor introduced the black bay black bezel in October, I was certain that was going to be my next watch. I figured it would be a great weekend watch that I could wind and throw on and a great value. I've wanted a watch with a vintage throwback feel to it for awhile and have gone back and forth on watches like the Tudor Heritage Chrono, the Omega Mark II, and most recently the Black Bay.

About a month ago, my eyes started wandering towards something else: the Chronomat Airborne. I knew if I was going to replace my Govberg LE Chronomat that this was going to be the one, but the question was when that would actually happen. One thing I liked about the Govberg edition was the brushed finish and how it toned everything down. Even with the polished Airborne, the brushed bezel still tones down the bling factor. The Govberg edition also comes with the display back but the Airborne does have a pretty cool caseback as well. The one thing I didn't have in my collection was a chronograph but that's no longer a problem. Enough of my rambling, here are the pics.

I'm a big fan of the Airborne. I think it's easily the best of the Chronomat range nowadays. One day I'll get myself a 41mm. Just have to decide which dial colour i like best!

Congrats Justin, excellent choice!

I really thought the Airborne was going to be my mechanical Chrono but just couldn't quite fit the larger 44mm case, tried it on many times, a little too thick and heavy for me.

Can't believe you let the Govberg edition go, thought that was your baby  .
Enjoy!

Congratulations, Justin. That Airborne is a classy looking Chronomat. One thing I find curious is how much closer in size it looks to the Sub in your pic, compared to the pic of your Govberg LE next to the Sub. Is that just a trick of the pic? I'm pretty sure both the LE and Airborne use the same case.

Congrats Justin. I'm one that also thinks the Airborne is the best Chronomat out there right now. It provides you with great variety too when set against your IWC and Rolex'. A really good choice for me.

Very nice. One of my favorites. Was it tough letting of the GB LE? I've always liked that one too.

The case for the Airborne and Govberg LE is the same. I think it's just the angle of the picture. In the pic with the Govberg edition, it also looks like I had the places slightly farther away from the camera.

It was hard letting go of the Govberg edition but it's still in the family, just on my brother's wrist.

Today this was boxed up and sent back to Govberg. They're handling a possible warranty issue for me so I'll be without it for awhile. Something didn't feel right when winding it so I'd rather have it checked out. There is also a small bit of lume missing on the triangle at 12:00 so I'm hoping it comes back with a new dial as well.

Hope it is nothing major and gets returned to you in pristine shape. The Airbone is also one of my favorite series and really like the 41mm models quite a bit.
