I like this watch...but I think I may hold out. I've already seen 6 for sale at the same time. Are people buying these with resale hopes?

What do you think the value of a blacksteel SA will be in a year...more than retail?

The only comparable would be to see what the AS Blacksteel is selling for now. The prices are definitely down from the peak, but still at, or slightly above list for new condition pieces.

There are definitely a lot of people buying the SA to sell, and if people want to buy that way then good luck to them, but there are still plenty more headed to ADs over the coming months. People who buy now are the ones who are prepared to pay a premium to be one of the first to own.

They are fairly readily available at ADs, and some ADs are certainly prepared to deal.

There are more of the SABS's than ASBS's. That said I think prices should come down a bit. My AD offered it to me at a nice discount, but decided to use the cash elsewhere for now. It's not to say I won't snag one in the future though ;)

Not everyone,i'm considering selling mine, not for profit, just because its not a blingy watch like my white dial, diamond bezel SA,which i prefer and wear most of the time, the BS was a novelty for me,see if i like it after a while etc....but my taste/opinion is not everyones.....

Buying this watch in hopes of reselling it for a couple bucks profit?...the only reason to buy it?....sounds silly to me,and petty.

It might not always be a couple of bucks though. On the same day that I picked up my ASBS in April one sold on eBay for US$5,500. I paid $4,100 Canadian including taxes. That would have been a fairly substantial profit!

So do you think that 3000 is limited enough that they will always carry a premium? I don't think it's limited enough...

I would think that a Bentley LeMans would carry more of a premium than the black steels.

Not a chance - 2 - 3 years from now a near mint version will be worth more than a comparable non BS because it is an LE, but it won't be over list - I guarantee it.

If you recall I was selling a couple of gold LEs earlier this year. They were NOS (never warrantied), but I was selling the LE of just 10 for $16,000 below list, and I wasn't losing money.
