I have been chatting with quite a few of you guys about watches and love doing so. In a recent convo I mentioned selling my first luxury watch purchase which was my Breitling Avenger. Two years ago it was a toss up between the avenger and the super avenger due to dial size vs color and bezel. After much thought I went with the avenger for its smaller size, but deep down still loved the Supers pure white dial and simpler styled bezel. But i was afraid big watches was just a fad, it wouldnt go with dress shirts etc... But after rocking my avenger in all scenarios i proved it could be worn whenever I wanted, depending. Recently I posted the avenger or sale with much apprehension, but not for the love of the watch, but more so the places it went with me and the experiences it had. It became a very personal... And it's amazing that a particular watch is now connected to us by memories created throughout life. Not all things do this, but for a "watch guy" or anyone with a passionate hobby, this means a lot.
Regardless, I say out with the old and in with the new. My AD was able to find one of the exact models super avenger I have so longed for but has been two years discontinued.
Here is to new memories, new experiences and a bad ass new watch coming my way sometime next week.
And I'm also so glad my avenger went to a good home. Take good care of her
