Post subject:  My First Breitling

Thanks to recommendations and help from great people here, I bought my first Breitling, a Chronomat Evolution with graphite dial and sub-dials, last week. Here are a few shots:

I love it very much and it feels great on my wrist. As expected, I have a few problems with it:

1. I've been monitoring its performance for a week now and I noticed it gains (or loses!) about 30 seconds a day  I wear it about 10 hours a day at work (office job). I'm planing to take it to my AD tomorrow but I was wondering if there is anything else I should consider.

2. It scratches so easily on the bracelet, is there anyway to avoid it?

zhoozhoo,

Congratulations on your new Ling. For the scratches get some Cape Cod Polishing Cloths they work great.

Nice looking watch!

30 seconds a day is fair old gain (or loss), so I'd definitely be taking a trip back to your AD if I was you. I know watches can sometimes need a little bit of "running in" time but I've never experienced a need for that on any of the watches I've owned.

In terms of scratches to the bracelet, I've always found Breitlings to be a bit more resistant than Omegas, but generally speaking I think it's just a case of going careful. Most of the time I tend to wear long sleeves with my Breitlings (which being as I live in England with the FANTASTIC climate (i.e. pouring rain and general coldness!) is not really a problem! ). It's a balancing act between being careful and not being too paranoid about scratches. And besides, minor scratches can always be polished out.

Nice Choice,

I have the Chrono Evo with black and silver sub dials. As for the scratches on the bracelet yes I also noticed it does scratches very easy mine got minor scratches on the very first day and I have an office job. Dont be to worried about the scratches you should be able to buff them out....
