Before I went that far into modifying I'd look to do the easily reversible stuff . My plan would be to buy 4 polished markers and a screw set . Maybe even a polished bezel off a standard headwind . Then look for a cheap used bracelet and do alternate polished/brushed . This way you could leave the watch case as is , and brush the 2 outer sides and middle-links and it would still tie together where the brushed outer-links meet the brushed case . Another alternative would be the 3-links wide bracelet and just have the middle links polished . I can't remember what it's called , but take a look in my modified superocean thread I just started for a pic of the bracelet I'm talking about . |

Hi I understood , but the point I was making is that once you have polished or modified the case , it could be an expensive experiment/costly mistake ... If you leave the side links of the bracelet brushed , from face-on it will flow and integrate into the brushed case ..... (Note , I mean the side-links as you look front-on not the sides of the links , as-in if the bracelelet is 3 links wide only the middle ones will be polished to contrast with the polished bezel , markets , screws , whatever you decide to do) ![]() As I mentioned earlier , my advice would be to do the easily remove able/reversible parts first . Such as bracelet , markers , screws , bezel . If you're still undecided , try drawing it or imagining it and pure black and white . Not monochrome . Just black and white .... Once you're happy with the design , symmetry , and relationship between the black part and the white parts . Then it's just a simple case of comparing a negative version to work out which parts should be polished and which parts should be brushed . Once you get to that stage , it's all pretty subtle if you've done it right ... ![]() Look at my superocean again . The case is polished and the bezel is brushed ![]() |

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=58670 If you look at the original bracelet photo , then the 3-striped strap , it may help me explain about the brushed/polished/brushed thing I'm trying to explain on your watch ... I have a fully brushed blackbird original on my wrist at the moment . I like the contrast in textures between polished and brushed , but I'd be very wary of doing something that could not be easily undone .... |

That is exactly what I want in the first pic, but no polished lugs like your last pic |

I'm not exactly sure what you mean , but this picture best sums-up the watch and it's differences in finishes .. ![]() Polished and brushed can mean many different things though as there are many variables in between . Polished , brushed , scratched , matte , would be a nice combo of finishes !!! ![]() Good luck with it , as I'm sure it will turn out awesome . |

So just like that, this is the only difference ![]() |
