This is a recent pick-up from a forum member. A great piece having been serviced by BUSA in December 2014. Last night whilst admiring the case back I noticed that there was an engraved 'SQ' in front of the model number. This makes me wonder if BUSA replaced the original B68 movement with the later B78 Superquartz one. I am aware that Breitling will sometimes replace older quartz movements as part of the service procedure and the engraving of the new movement number is a good way of highlighting this. If only they'd done it a little more carefully! A new dial would have been nicer maybe but this would obviously be at extra cost. The engraving is very hard to see and was difficult to photograph but is there to see. I'd be interested to know if any other members have noticed this on their watches?

Nothing unusual. Breitling replaces the cal 68 movement with the later model if the 68 is unserviceable .
Several references to it in this forum, just play a it with the search function.
I seem to recall that some may have even had their case backs replaced to reflect the new model number however I could be wrong.
It probably varies between the service centres in different countries.
Just enjoy the fact that you have a Superquartz in your B1 ;-)

Ah, thank you for the additional information. Certainly a bonus to have an updated movement.
