Image

i currently own a superocean heritage with a issue i am unsure of?

if you guys notice, there is some sort of a "scratch" beside the 3 oclock index..

this is only visible under strong sunlight or a strong light source and it can be seen only at an angle.

I have sent this watch to the Breitling service centres both in my country and in Singapore and none of them could solve this issue. They had the dial replaced but the "issue" is still present. In addition there are numerous white dust particles around the dial.

I presume the "scratch" is indeed not a scratch but some sort of irregular satin finishing of the dial which is perfectly normal?

I am certain i am not going to send my watch in again for the 3rd time..1st time my watch was send in for a scratch on the watch index, dial was replaced. 2nd time my watch was send in was for the "scratch", dial was replaced for the 2nd time. As for the dust particles , i would rather send to a trusted watchmaker whom can get things done.

I had a similar issue with another type of watch (it is not important if it was a Breitling or other) and it turned out that the watchmaker had damaged a bit the antireflex layer on the inside of the crystal when servicing the watch. Hope this helps. Good luck, mate!

Good grief! The dial has been replaced twice and it still appears to be defective. Plus you now have the optional dust sprinkles to add to your list.

I have seen similar imperfections before, but not on an expensive watch. I assume the nick is not always in the same place, that it's not always the same size or orientation, and that they have actually replaced the dial each time. If it is on the glass it will move around under artificial light but it looks like it's in the dial finish.

Checking here with other owners is a good idea. If they notice the same thing, then it's a regular occurrence. Which would be strange IMO. It would also be unfortunate if you had the only 3 defective dial examples ending up on your watch.

I hope you can get a fix for this.

I'd send it back again. I recently sent my superocean back due to an oil mark on the dial. They replaced the dial free of charge. Took them a month and a half but they made it right. Defects like this are unacceptable in a $5000 watch.
