This may sound silly but can someone explain to me how to read the minute hand on this watch?

Same as any other watch, one rotation per hour. You just have to get used to the 5 minute markers being 2, 4, 6, etc instead of 1, 2, 3.

2 1/2 - markers represent the odd hours and so fall equidistant between the even hour / 5 minute markers.

I'm seriously jealous of that pick-up! A NOS Chronomatic LE! You just don't come across those every day, and that's one watch that I always wanted but never owned.

Very nice indeed. I am stunned one was just sitting there waiting for a first time owner. . Hope you paid a 1970s price for it.
