Hi all, as a few of you know I didn’t have the best start with the B50…

I had the first customer watch in the UK and went through several replacements whilst Switzerland tried to resolve the various issues. Breitling UK and the London Boutique were very helpful throughout, but understandably I eventually lost confidence in the watch. They refunded me without hesitation, but they wanted to go further than that. To help restore my faith in the brand they offered to lend me a watch to test for a couple of months once all the problems had been fixed – a confident move and great customer service.

So here it is. Nearly 4 weeks in and it has behaved exactly as we all would have had all expected it to in the first place – impeccably. When it first arrived I wore it for 5 days straight – sleeping, showering, cycling, running, working, and some (moderate) drinking. For a larger watch it is very comfortable and incredibly light (my daily wearer is a Rolex DeepSea so I’m used to a heavy watch). In my opinion its design is unrivalled for a multi function tool watch and the attention to detail is fantastic. The titanium finish has great wrist presence without being at all flash.

Having had such bad luck with the first few watches I’ve made a point of testing all the functions quite extensively over the past month and everything has worked perfectly. I have a few adventures planned over the next couple of weeks including some flying so I’ll keep you posted on how the watch performs but so far so good!

Any questions just ask.

Yes, the selected function stays in position when in 'locked mode'.

You can of course still access the function i.e. start, stop and reset the chrono, use the backlight, park the hands etc but it doesn't change to a different function.

What sort of battery life are you getting? Is the charge indicator accurate?

Battery life seems really good so far, but of course it depends on what you are running - he tilt / light for example will take quite a bit of power if you use it a lot.

I have done a few things to minimise battery usage, like turn off tilt, use a the shorter backlight timing, turn off vibrate, and I only have sounds on for the alarm.

To get an update of the power reserve you turn the crown to diplay 'battery' and then press the top pusher to update the percentage of battery remaining.
