Well, if it had a ceramic bezel it would be perfect IMHO, but I really like this one. A pip on the bezel! I guess they listened.... Love the lumed arabics on the dial too. Don http://www.breitling.com/en/campaigns/superocean-ii/ |

I was looking at it as well. I'm not clear about the Bezel. As quoted from the Breitling site, "The fluted rubber-molded unidirectional rotating bezel displays clearly visible large numerals, a countdown of the last 15 dive-time minutes and a triangle with a luminescent marker at 12 o’clock." Is the insert rubber? |

i am new to the boards but have been a long time lurker...currently own a superocean chrongraph II with a colt chrono auto on order. i tend to disagree with the many on the boards regarding the rubber insert on the bezel. although ceramic is nice, it often reminds me of cheap plastic because of its shiny characteristics. i see so many with rolex submariners out there and they just look tacky (no offense). for me the matte black look of rubber is sweet and screams sporty, sophisticated, and elegant. obviously this is all subjective. i know many have questioned the durability of the rubber bezels but i can attest they are in fact very druable. i also cant find any reports of people complaining about chipping, tearing, etc. i have had mine for about a year and a half and the bezel still looks as new as the day i got it. if anything the surrounding metal looks a bit worn from scratches, etc. regarding the new super oceans...i think they look a bit busy with all of the numbers. i like the look of the bezel, but likely wouldnt buy one. i am a chrono guy anyways. |

Good to hear from the other side of the fence on the rubber-insert front. ![]() And welcome aboard by the way. |

I can respect your opinion about rubber vs ceramic on the bezel but in my opinion ceramic on my Rolex not only looks great but can be worn with casual or formal dress. I wouldn't wear rubber on a bezel or strap in a professional work environment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Personally I'm a big fan of the rubber bezel, perfect weekend warrior. How many Rolex Sub users actually use it for its purpose in all reality. Might be an add to the collection for me personally. |

Yup I'll second or third those opinion about the rubber inlay being durable. I have one on daily now and can't see any wear. Unfortunately you can't replace the inserted rubber. ![]() |
