Hi,

just got my very first B navitimer olympus, pre-owned, so probably being over cautious.
checked precision (-3 sec/day), checked power reserve (46hrs) all looks good.
one suspicious thing: when I shake the watch with "stirring" movements, rotor produces sound similar to scratching. is it normal or it's a valid reason to be concerned?

Please don't shake your watch. The rotor is not silent, but a grating noise can be an indication of a screw in the automatic winding mechanism becoming loose and rubbing. If it had come completely loose the watch wouldn't wind automatically but might be worth checking with an AD who has a watchmaker. They can confirm whether the noise you hear is normal, if the screw needs tightening it's a very quick job.

I agree with Roff, especially as the B19 movement is based on the ETA 2892, which is generally one of the quieter movements when it comes to the automatic winding mechanism.
