Hi all!!

Does any juweler use the electronic warranty card with a new Breitling?
Or do some also still use the written one...

Current stock supplied to ADs by Breitling distributors come with electronic warranty card.
It is quite possible to find a NOS piece with the old paper warranty card.
It is quite possible to find the same current model at one AD with the new electronic warranty card and another AD selling the same model with the old paper warranty booklet.
Both have the same terms.
How much is the electronic warranty card worth to you ?

It is my understanding that all of the AD's have switched from the warranty booklets to the new electronic warranty cards. They have all been supplied with the necessary equipment to utilize the new cards. In the US this was completed in 2013 if my memory serves me right! As Wessa noted above there may be NOS, but in the US AD's were told to utilize new blank electronic cards and not issue the booklets, at least that is what my AD told me!

Could possibly be a BUSA thing however there is rest of the world, believe it or not.
Maybe BUSA decided to go for the electronic warranty cards exclusively but the world is slightly bigger than BUSA hence I know for a fact that there are many watches there outside of BUSA jurisdiction that even today come with the cardboard warranty cards.
OP has not made it clear which part of BUSA (or the rest of the world) he/she is from.

My apologies, raymond147 made it clear in his original post that he is from Netherlands.
Maybe someone from Netherlands can help raymond147 out.

Wessa is correct for every location. Some distributors (like the US) provided blank warranty cards for existing NOS pieces but no guarantees that a) there will be enough for all of the existing pieces or b) AD staff will use them.

Just asked because at the buy/sell section is a breitling seawolf with the written warranty card from BUSA (01-2015!)...
Think the Ecard is better because you cant fill it yourself at any point.

Funny thing is, BUSA were the individuals who told me that the AD's were to use the new electronic warranty cards instead of the old booklets. It was of there opinion that this would reduce any ambiguity as to when the watch was sold in the US and if it was still under warranty, if that question should arise. Without expressly saying so I believe they were looking to address a common practice from years ago when some watches were sold in the US with warranty booklets that were not completed. It looks like they need to go back and look at their own inter office memos! :lol: :lol: :lol:

When I bought my Seawolf, I was told that it was only stock supplied by Breitling after a certain implementation date would get the new E-warranty and existing stock would be sold with the old paper warranty - this all ties up with the RFID chip in the COSC certificate, as without the RFID chip, you couldn't activate an e-warranty even if you wanted to.

It was actually a bit of an issue with my SW as they wrote out the warranty booklet with an incorrect serial number (transposed 2 digits) and when I complained, the AD initially just wanted to scrub out the old number and re-write in the new (um, nope), and when I insisted they provide a replacement warranty booklet got a bit twitchy because they only had enough to go around the current stock. In the end, they robbed one from another watch box; hardly an issue as it isn't filled in until purchased, but complained a bit as they reckoned Breitling wouldn't supply them with a replacement.

Guys, as an AD, in Europe, I can state the following. I was the first who posted a thread on the eWarranty and presumably the first AD on here who used this new system. When Breitling came to install this, they took ALL blank written warranty cards and COSC certificates to replace them with a new certificate wich has the RFID chip in them so even though a watch is NOS, a new eWarranty would need to be used. Unfortunately, I still have a piece in my shop wich has been around for some time and even for that piece, I have a eWarranty. I, for one, would be very sceptic finding a watch wich has a written warranty dated 2015. Because, it is not possible as far as I know.
