My AD has an old Navitimer in his safe. He said it was ordered for a client a while back but was never sold. It has been serviced by Breitling and he is wondering if I am interested. I don't know much about the piece and would value your opinion. It is quite small at 38mm and it is a Navitimer made for the blue angels. It got blue angels on the dial and is in RG. Is it something desirable or sought after?

As a general rule logo special / limited editions are less desirable than regular models because they are a smaller target market. Something popular like the Blue Angels will help offset that, but won't add value. Gold models drop like a stone resale and are again a limited market. If you like it and like the price then by all means get it, but don't buy it as an opportunity to make money - there's a reason why the AD still has it and is trying to offload it.

The only 38mm Navitimer Blue Angels limited edition in 18k I can think of was the Montbrillant which came out around 1997/8. It retailed for $9200 at the time. I think the watch, if nos, would still sell for near that much since the gold value has gone up in 17 years and it's nos. It will take the right buyer to pay that much for it but I see no difference with any 18k Breitling to be honest. Takes the right buyer.
