I am about to buy my first "proper" watch, and I am torn... I have wanted a Breitling for 20 years, thinking "Navitimer or nothing". Now I am in the market, the Navitimer does not actually suit my wrist, and I am trying to decide between an Avenger II GMT and a Galactic 44, in either the blue or black.
The GMT on the Avenger is a nice feature, but I think the clean lines of the Galactic are unparalleled in the Breitling range. Obviously, the Caliber 32 on the Avenger varies from the Caliber 45 on the Galactic, but is there a major difference between the two? Cost aside, is there anything else to consider other than personal preference? Clearly, with a watch of this quality, it's about how one feels when one is wearing it, but I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on other things to consider. Thanks, in advance for your comments....

Just curious, why did you say that the Navitimer does not suit your wrist? You have a choice of 43mm, 46mm and even 48mm(with GMT). Therefore there should be one that fits your wrist.

I am not a fan of Avenger and Galactic line but if I have to choose one, I think I will choose Avenger II GMT.

Thanks for the advice. I have a very small wrist, so the 46mm Navi World is just too wide, and feels uncomfortable. I haven't tried a 48mm. The 43mm is really nice, and of course it's a B01 movement, but it's rather above my budget, and I really fancy a blue face. I'm leaning towards the Avenger GMT, as I have promised myself a Breitling by the time I am 50, but I am also considering a) postponing my purchase and saving until Breitling introduce a blue dialled Navi 01 or b) buying an Omega Speedmaster (Heaven forbid....)

I really like the Avenger GMT. The Galactic is nice, but several other Breitlings I'd own before that.
