Picked up my gratis baseball cap from my AD the other day. Very well made and even the buckle had the Breitling "B" logo stamped on it! Here are a few shots! And for all you Brits, I reckon seeing you pay way more than Us over on this side of the pond we should start a petition so that you guy's can get one too!

Sorry for the less than sharp shots!

The black cap looks great with the gold logo. When I got my first Breitling, in the early 90's, a quartz Colt, I received a cap. Darned if I know what I did with it.
If I remember, you got the Cockpit at Time & Gold here in Vancouver?
We both agreed, an outstanding AD.
I have been in there a few times lately, eyeing the brushed Blackbird they still have. There is something about it, a very large part being the 7 grand price tag, that holds me back. The more I wear my Steelfish, the more I love it. I am even considering getting the Pilot bracelet for it, the version that is on the Blackbird, with the bevelled edges.
Sorry, I am digressing. You guys on the forum are the only ones I can share these thoughts with. None of my friends or family even has the vaguest idea what I am talking about, nor do they have any interest at all in watches. I am afraid you are stuck with my ramblings.
Cheers for now,
Carl

Great looking watch. My compliments. Can somebody please explain all the excitement about a baseball cap though?

Hey Carl. I can see why you like the Blackbird, it is a great looking watch, I too love the brushed finish! I think the pilot bracelet on the steelfish would look fantastic, I love mine, I think it is the best finished SS bracelet on the market, the way the links are make it shimmer in the light!

As for ramblings, heck why do you think I hang out here! Most of my friends think a $20 Timex is the ultimate watch! They have no Idea why I have no Idea why I have 16 watches and when I tell them that my collection is modest compared to others they look at me with disbelief!

As to time and Gold and the Blackbird have you talked numbers with them? I remember they were generous with the discount on mine and my friends!
Take it easy, back to November eh! rain!

Oh yes, about the blackbird, one thing that is for me a fantastic part is the large date! Of all the things I love about my watch the large date is the greatest thing, I wonder if the blackbirds does the same as mine and instantly flip just after midnight?

Thanks, I love my watch! As to the baseball cap, well for me it's a freebie so that is the excitement bit! It is nicely finished though!

Normally, I don't get excited about baseball caps. However, since I am a lover of Breitlings, their cap would be an exception for me. It is also quite unique, a lot of people don't know a thing about watches, let alone
Breitlings. It is not a show-off type of thing, but something I would take a pride in wearing. Kind of hard to explain, because I normally don't wear any type of clothing with a brand logo on it.
Cheers,
Carl

Hey Ian,
I think the Blackbird does the same thing with the date as your Cockpit, although it is a different movement because it's a Chronograph. Michael, at Time & Gold explained to me how the date on the Blackbird works. I was really curious, as the date is so close to the 12 at the top of the watch. Apparently, there are 2 separate dials, one beside the other, that are synchronized. That must be quite a piece of engineering, and to get them in that space as well, especially with the one dial having 10 digits. The dial on the right rotates counter-clockwise, and the one on the left rotates clockwise.
I didn't even get into speaking with them about the Blackbird yet. I still haven't decided whether I will sell my Blacksteel or not. I know there is still a demand for them, but I just find the task of going about selling a bit daunting at the moment. I am sure there will be a Blackbird available even if I have to order one, or maybe by then a new model will come out that I like better. I sort of believe that if it's meant to be.....
Cheers,
Carl

Hey Carl, that is what Micheal said to me about mine as well, He said it is way more complex than you would think! As I said, it is my favorite feature! I am totally in agreement with you on the if it is meant to be thing, heck that is one of the basic principals of the work I do!
I too would find it daunting to sell any of my watches, I have been thinking about if for the past month simply because since getting the Breitling I don't wear anything else!

The Breitling baseball caps are very good quality, but I generally only wear a cap when I'm working on my property (cutting grass, chopping wood, etc) and I don't think I would wear a Breitling cap for that.

I have a couple now and just like the fact that I actually got a good quality freebie - as a company owner I see a few 'gifts', but they are usually cheap and cheesy garbage - this cap's different.

On the big date subject - if you want to see how a big date function is constructed take a look at pictures of a Zenith Chronomaster XXT Open Grande Date - you can see the two date rings through the dial, although those are concentric rings like the Cockpit rather than the Blackbird style. Nice cap. I finally got mine after almost a year and a few emails to the AD. I'm like Roff though, and don't normally wear a cap unless its to work around the house, but I'll make an exception for the 'ling cap and wear it out occasionally.
