Hi Everyone,

My wife gave me a Superocean 42 SE (the blue on blue) for my birthday and I receive many compliments on it.

I have one question regarding winding the watch - should it be somewhat hard to do or is that normal? I've developed a nice callous on my right thumb but it can get fairly unpleasant!
Does anyone have the same concern/issue with this watch?

Thanks in advance.

Rather difficult to answer subjectively, but callouses doesn't sound right. Problems can occur where the rotor doesn't disengage from the keyless works which can increase manual winding resistance - worth getting checked at an AD.

I had a SO42 Black Abyss that was a bit hard to wind. Fairly normal for for this one though as far as I could tell. I went to a local AD and wound a couple they had in the case and it had the same amount of difficulty to wind. I took it as normal. It kept great time, so I never worried about it. Even though it's a bit tough to wind, it shouldn't be causing callouses.... Never hurts to have an AD take a look. At least wind another one for comparison purposes. My two cents.
Hope you enjoy it, and Congrats!

That is one of the nicest diving watches I have ever seen. If only the bezel had been ceramic. Congrats!

Actually I think they've done it right with the rubber. The polished metal with the deep blue of dial contrasting with the subdued rubber is amazing!!! But I am a bit biased owning one as well.
