Not long ago I purchased a colt chronograph, just love everything about the watch. So on my trip to Costco I swing by the watch section (can't help it) to see what's new and ran into this beauty (replaced the watch I purchased). I'm sure I will own another one at some point but not quite ready for that luxury. Anyways, I just thought I'd share since it looked so good

They are asking $6,299.99 for this Blackbird limited (I think 2,000 made but not sure)

Picture isn't working, but Costco is grey market so no warranty, no guarantee that it's not a customer return, lemon, etc. You have to ask yourself why a supposedly in demand LE ended up in the grey market.

Hmmm...not sure why but I can see it. I appreciate your concern and opinion on gray market but when it comes to Costco I'm not worried about it. Their warranty is hard to beat, life time money back guarantee should anything go wrong with the watch. IMO that is better than any AD can give so I would prefer to not only pay less but have better long term coverage.

Costco has to have some sort of arrangement with Breitling considering how big they are, at the very least Breitling must be aware of it and is not making a stink that they are selling their watches.

Well Costco warranty is only going to get you your money back - you lose the watch because they are unlikely to get a second one. Costco has absolutely no arrangement with Breitling, Breitling have just never been very concerned about clamping down on grey market.

If your going to go grey market there are much better sellers than Costco. Perhaps that's for another thread.

Interesting and thank you for the valuable information. Money back just fine with me but not the same for all, thanks again for the info

I'm surprised, both that Costco would sell Breitling (they sell some nice things, but we ARE talking about Breitling, after all) and that Costco would be grey market! Costco may not be Tiffany's, but I would expect even K-Mart to be authorized sellers of all their products.

I would bet that Breitling is well aware and has no issues with Costco selling their watches, just think how much more money they are making from them, the bottom line with any business.

I can't say enough good things about Costco & their warranty policy, though it saddens me to see it widely abused at times (ever see the long lines of large-screen TVs being 'returned' just after the Superbowl? :( ).

When I was living in the States, Costco would always be my no.1 shopping destination before cheking anywhere else. How the missus & I miss Costco!!

They are making precisely $0 from Costco.

Breitling makes money when the watch is sold to the AD, when the AD sells to someone else it is the AD that makes money. Breitling simply doesn't seem to care about grey market sellers, whether that is an appropriate response is a different debate.

They aren't making any money from Costco directly, but they are no doubt increasing their overall sales and indirectly making more money by not cracking down on grey dealers such as Costco. Allowing the grey market channel in turn allows Breitling to sell more watches to the AD's who are dumping watches into the grey and then purchasing different or additional watch from Breitling that they may not have been able to buy if slower selling watches just sat in their displays. So indirectly, Costco allows Breitling to make more money. Breitling doesn't seem to care because they already made their profit from the AD which as you said is a completely different debate.
