Just a quick question from a newbie

I have a Navitimer fighters which my wife bought me for my 30th 11 years ago.

It's black with white sub dials. It's also got the fighters steel strap as well.

I've seen a couple of ones with white dial but hardly any with black.

Many thanks in advance.

Very nice piece, I owned one just like it a couple of years ago. It was not a limited edition, like, say a 1000 piece production but what Breitling called a Special Series. I have no idea how many actually sold. I think it was only offered for a couple of years. A few come up for sale each year on the various sales boards.

Many thanks for the reply.

It's a piece that only comes out on my days off as I've a Superocean 42 for everyday

I'm finding it hard to get valued tbh.

Both really. I don't plan on selling it as there is too much sentimental value.

Breitling series special are nice. I like your example. I'd vote 12 for a appraisal replacement value.

I had one of these a while back. In fact it was my first Navi and first Breitling.
At the time there was loads of black ones around and hardly any silver. What I see for sale now are generally quite rough and incomplete.

12 days of Christmas, 12 months in the year, 12 signs on the zodiac, 12 disciples of Jesus, but in this case 12k usd.

might be a reasonable insurance value, but BIN listings on ebay and c24 are typically between 4-5, auctions end between 3-4, rarely above that. k US$ or €.

I think the value would be between $3-4K USD.

read the op he wants an insurance value to get a new comparable item, not what you will sell it for on ebay quickly. That being said I've been buying/into rolexes recently so maybe my numbers are off lol. just got three this summer but that's another post.

So the replacement value would be approx double of the initial sales price ? , and the i surance company will accept that ?
