I ordered my first new Breitling from my AD on the 20th of August and its arriving tomorrow. Not sure if I can sleep tonight. I ordered a Chronospace Automatic with Mesh bracelet. My Grail watch. I had a Chronospace Quarts a while ago (testing the ground I guess). I know the Automatic has a slightly smaller face than the Quarts. I recon it's going to be the perfect watch for me. Automatic and the perfect size. I hope it's everything I imagine it to be !!!

Congrats! Bet you can't sleep tonight, :) . Here is one that may satisfy your appetite in the meantime, also have the ocean classic mesh for it but wearing it on rubber at the moment.

Post some pics when it arrives.

It's an exciting time. Savour it and tell us your impressions once it arrives. I like the chronospace auto very much. I think it has a hunkered down look that is unlike any other Breitling I have seen recently. Congratulations.

Thanks Guys. My baby has just arrived. It looks great. I have a question or two. How do you adjust the date ? On my Breitling Crosswind it has a click on the crown that adjust the date. It looks like the Chronospace doesn't have this. Is that correct ?

Damit. Also just ran the stopwatch for a bit and the Minute counter resets back to 22min. Not to 0min. The hours jump back to 0 but the minutes jump back to 22min. Bloody hell !!

There is no quick set date on calibre 23. You either advance time or you can wind back and forth between about 9pm and 3am and the date will change every time that you go forwards through midnight.

Chrono reset is a Breitling fix.

A man. That's disappointing !! Is there a way to fix this without sending it back to the AD and waiting another 4weeks ??

I can imagine... I would be as well. On the other hand, it's a small fix. But it shouldn't have been an issue from the start. You are not the first one with this problem. Trust me... And not only on the caliber 23.

Well I don't think that you are going to like what I have to say, but.......

I wouldn't want that kind of AD. To commit, sight unseen, to turning the watch around the same day is irresponsible. That doesn't provide enough time for a thorough diagnosis of the problem, let alone a fix and then testing. All that will happen same day is either a reseating of the chrono seconds hand (if it consistently returns to the same spot) or a disassembly and reassembly (if it is inconsistent). That may or may not solve the problem but both involve removing the movement from the case, compromising the integrity and requiring some basic testing. If the movement is disassembled then at the very least it also needs timing to ensure an accurate rate, and if that's done then it will only be an instant timing machine test in one or two positions, not a proper regulation.

A well meaning AD I'm sure, but not one with the best interests of the watch at heart!
