I've just ordered my first Breitling. Since I wanted a model wich was a little bit out of my price range, I had to go trough a `greymarked` dealer.
Just to get a peace of mind, I want to have it checked if its authentic or not. Do I have to send it directly to Breitling or can any AD have a quick look at it ?
If it's one of the recognised greymaket dealers (Authenticwatches, Prestigetime, Jomashop, etc) then it's real. However Breitling won't touch it at all if the serial has been removed, and they won't touch it under warranty unless you have the original warranty card.
The only way for Breitling to confirm authenticity these days is if an AD (not a consumer) phones them with a serial number. They will then confirm that the serial is right, what watch it matches and where that watch was first sold.
