Hello all, good to be here! Seems like an informative place with fairly likable people ![]() I have been buying fine swiss watches sinse I was 16, I just love having that sophisticated mechanical movement on my wrist!!! I also enjoy looking down and coming back up with a smile after seeing a buitifull watch. I am a huge Rolex and Omega fan, but have recentely discovered the ever so macho yet refined Breitlings, couldnt resist and ordered a SS blue dial Chronomat Evolotion for starters, lets see how that goes and might go with a Bentley soon enough. My AD says it will be available for pick up saterday so....yeah pretty excited!!!!! One problem though, I dont mind paying for quality but I expect to get my mony's worth, I have heard that Breitling QC has been lacking lately? Not good news at all for a new comer. What known defects should I look fore before walking out the store? Something about the indictors not lighting up properly? Thanks in advance for any help!!! |

![]() Only fairly likable?? We're all absolutely lovely people here! ![]() As far as QC issues go, I've not come across anything bad myself on any of the Breitling's I've owned, or currently own (touch wood!). However there have been one or two posts on here regarding GMT hands not working, and also discolouration on dials, but fortunately they appear to be very few and far between. Have a quick search on this forum and it should throw up the issues raised so far. Additionally, I think Alien (who is an AD from Europe) posted something a while back stating that Breitlings tend to have the least problems out of the makes he sees (please correct me if I'm wrong here Alien). Personally, as a big Breitling fan, I can't recommend Breitlings enough! ![]() |

Welcome to the forum! That's one of the best quotes yet haha. I've not had too many problems with my Breitlings, but there are people that have... I'm sure this is the case with any brand however. Alien did say that Breitlings had the least problems of all the watches he dealt with.. I wonder if Watchmakeress has the same experience? |

Altair, Never heard of any discoloration on a blue face Chronomat but I had it happen on the outside of the dial on a Black Face Bentley GT. I took it back and swapped it out for the Full Size Bentley. My local Breitling Technician said it is due to improper sealing. |
